Nia specialises in portraiture
and life drawing, offering
engaging and accessible
classes for all skill levels. As a dedicated
realist artist who continues to refine her craft, she incorporates techniques used by artists and illustrators, drawing on established principles of art theory.
Her workshops introduce the Reilly method, a structured approach to understanding facial proportions. Participants will learn to build a portrait step by step using lines and circles, developing their observational skills and technical accuracy. With hands-on tuition throughout the session, attendees will apply their learning by drawing a peer, putting their practice into action.
You, of course, are able to take your creation home for further practice or to display on your mantlepiece
as a piece of Fine art!
One-to-one tuition is also available
for adults and students.

The practice of origami has many benefits for both adults and children. Its origins trace back to China, but it developed further in Japan, where it was used to decorate temples and shrines. The word "origami" comes from the Japanese words oru (to fold) and kami (paper). Originally, it was reserved for aristocrats and high-ranking officials due to the high cost of paper. However, as paper became more affordable, origami became a widespread practice.

Origami is a mindful practice that encourages focus and patience. The technique and repetitive folding create a meditative flow state, helping to promote relaxation. It also improves hand-eye coordination and dexterity, making it especially beneficial for children developing motor skills.
In a group setting, origami fosters collaboration and shared experiences, making it a great team bonding activity. You don’t have to be ‘arty’ to enjoy it—origami is creatively expressive, inexpensive, and eco-friendly! It’s an inclusive and playful practice that brings a real sense of achievement!
